Malaysian police have busted an illegal online gambling syndicate in the country that took around £4m in bets during the first three weeks of the Euro 2016 football championships.

The syndicate was operating from a house in a suburb in Johor Baru, the capital of Johor, the southern state of Malaysia, reports IBTimes.com
Following the July 3 raid, Kamarul Zaman of the Criminal Investigations Department said in a statement that a 43-year-old local man had been arrested.
“The syndicate had accepted bets totalling almost MYR21m [£4m] on Euro 2016. It had also offered credit limits of between MYR2m [£380,000] and MYR10m [£1.9m] to its customers,” said Zaman.
