Following an announcement earlier this week that William Hill's online betting operations is set to move offshore, Ladbrokes announced yesterday that it will move its online sportsbook to Gibraltar.

After announcing falling revenue and profits for the first half of this year, Ladbrokes now looks set to focus on cost-cutting measures. It didn’t reveal how much it expects to save through the move, but said it would "materially improve the competitiveness and operating margin."

The group confirmed the UK Sportsbook would operate from Gibraltar by the end of the year. Shares in Ladbrokes rose 2.15 per cent yesterday morning.
