Representatives from the Swedish Gambling Authority’s Match-Fixing Council met with counterparts from Finland on Tuesday to discuss and share ideas and experiences.

The third and final meeting of 2023 of the Council saw a presentation of Sportradar’s Integrity Services, which is aimed at tackling match-fixing and suspicious sports betting patterns.
“Exchanging experiences and, to the extent possible, cooperating between countries against match-fixing is important, as it is often a cross-border problem and national platforms can have similar challenges,” said Samuel Wahlberg, the coordinator against match-fixing at the Gambling Inspectorate.
Sweden’s gambling regulator will take on the role of combatting match-fixing in the country, as per its requirements set out in the Council of Europe’s Macolin Convention.
“It will mean a deepened and more operationally oriented collaboration. In order to counteract match-fixing, it is important that suspicions can be spread so that the actors concerned can use the tools that are available, said head of department Patrik Gustavsson.
