Garth Kimber, head of e-Gaming development for the Isle of Man, justified the jurisdiction's presence at EiG in Copenhagen last week.
Speaking to iNTERGAMINGi at the show last week, Kimber said that the jurisdiction’s support for the show was a combination of a need to ‘wave the flag’, meet new operators and current licensees for gaming on island.
Kimber said that he was surprised at the strong turnout at the conference. "On the first day I felt that we might be disappointed at the support for the event, but as it has progressed, the conference and trade show has been well attended."
He continued: "I do feel, however, that there are too many trade shows, that they tend to last too long - EiG is three days - and these things combine to place a heavy financial burden on exhibitors. And the conference programme does take people off the floor." Overall, however, he said that he was satisfied with the jurisdiction’s participation.
