Europe’s igaming revenues will flatline this year as a result of the cancellation of major sporting events and economic factors related to the pandemic, reports Alun Bowden of Eilers & Krejcik Gaming.

The specialist gaming research organisation says that online casino growth will not offset the online sports betting decline.

Revenue was up 8.7 per cent to €21.6bn last year, notably with France growing at 21 per cent and Germany by 16 per cent. Among the big operators GVC had 10 per cent market share with Bet365 holding nine per cent and The Stars Group seven per cent.
