The Gaming Regulators European Forum says its members have promised “increased co-operation” in the fight against illegal gambling.

The GREF counts a number of regulators across the continent as its associate members, including France’s ANJ and Spillemyndigheden in Denmark.
The statement, as per the ANJ website, said illegal gambling “threatens” the achievement of a fair gaming market and that “the development of the legal sector is threatened by illegal sites which are not held to the same standards that we expect from our licensed operators.”
“In light of these considerations, we commit today to work together against illegal gambling, in order to ensure effective implementation of our national regulations,” the GREF continued.
“This joint action will result in increased cooperation in the fight against illegal operators, in particular through regular meetings, the exchange of information, alerts, expertise, good practices and joint actions against illegal sites.”
The GREF hopes the increased collaboration will enable it to “better identify and reduce” illegal gambling activities and raise consumer awareness of the risks the illegal market poses.
