Sweden’s Administrative Court of Appeal is to hear an appeal over the decision to revoke Global Gaming subsidiary SafeEnt’s licence for betting and online gambling.

The original decision, which came as a hammer blow to Global Gaming, was appealed to the Administrative Court. On November 12, 2019, the decision was made to refuse the appeal.
A further appeal was then made to the Administrative Court of Appeal in Jönköping, which decided to grant a review permit, meaning that the court will decide whether the Swedish Gambling Authority’s decision was correct.
Tobias Fagerlund, Global Gaming’s CEO, said: “We are, of course, relieved that the Administrative Court of Appeal has granted a review permit of the case.
“We hope that the Administrative Court of Appeal will eventually share our opinion that the Swedish Gambling Authority’s decision was disproportionate and incorrect.”
