Over 120 delegates from Gibraltar and overseas attended KPMG's inaugural egaming summit in Gibraltar.

The event was held at Leisure Island in Ocean Village last month and saw a series of professionals speaking on matters relevant to the online gaming sector, both locally and globally.

It considered issues impacting on the sector, with specific emphasis on those licensed and operating from Gibraltar, including regulation, banking, player safety and changing global attitudes to the sector. A group of speakers also delivered sessions on current and future developments for the sector, with insight into some cutting edge ideas including mobile gaming, 3D gaming, virtual currencies, social networks and games of skill.

The event received support from across the sector, including bwin.party digital entertainment and Passoker.

Mike Harvey, director at KPMG in Gibraltar, commented: "Gibraltar has a huge part to play in the global egaming industry and this sort of engagement between the key players is essential to the jurisdiction continuing to thrive."
