Digame Games, based in Germany, has launched GallopStars its first skill-based browser game.
With the virtual stable, horse racing fans can now train their potential champions and race against each other in real time in online 3D races. The better the horses are cared for and trained, the greater the chance of winning or selling their horse in Gallopstar’s virtual auction room. Trainers enter races by paying an entry fee and win real prize money.
In GallopStars.com - just as with real racehorse owners - players must pay careful attention to bloodline and breed when buying or bidding on a horse in order to have the best chance at winning. Moreover, clever stable management and the right training for the animals play a major role.
Races take place on a variety of surfaces, such as dirt or turf, with players able to determine the intensity and rhythm of their horses’ training regimes for themselves. The training results are evaluated in detail, allowing the performance of the horses to be analysed at a glance and improved.
As well as participating in races, players can earn additional money by auctioning off well-trained horses in a virtual saleroom.
This new online venture presents a new business model, according to Digame Games. Not only can in-game items be purchased, players can also win substantial prize money by putting up real entry fees. The minimum stake for participating is €1, with a maximum potential bet of €50.
