Asian casino operator Melco Resorts and Entertainment, with locations in Macau and the Philippines, has partnered with Kowloon E-Stadium Ltd and ALL-IN E-Sports Ltd to launch Macau’s first ever esports venue.
The Macau EStadium, at Melco’s Studio City resort, is an event space that can set up to 274 people and is equipped with hi-tech facilities for esports tournaments, virtual gaming leagues and professional players.
It can also live-stream esport events from other parts of the world and broadcast them to the Macau audience in both Mandarin and Cantonese languages. Several top tournaments are already lined up for this year.
Most esports players are under 30 years and Chinese players account for over half of the global esports audience and virtual gaming is growing in particular in Asia.
