A new collaboration between DraftKings and Gamres will introduce the Positive Play Scale to the operator.

The scale will be introduced through an online survey to select DraftKings customers in the US and marks the first time a multi-state online US operator will incorporate the tool into its responsible gaming program.
The Positive Play Scale was developed by Ontario-based RG consulting and research practice Gamres. It asks players about four key beliefs – personal responsibility, gaming literacy, honesty and control and pre-commitment – to measure their responsible gaming knowledge and behaviours.
Gamres will prepare an administer an online survey to a US-based sample of DraftKings customers and will then analyse the results to provide a baseline measure of positive play at DraftKings, as well as identify possible differences in certain player groups and how DraftKings could refine its RG practices.
Chrissy Thurmond, senior director of responsible gaming at DraftKings, said its RG policy will be “significantly enhanced” with the Positive Play Scale.
Dr. Richard Wood of Gamres added that the tool will help DraftKings identify players who have “misconceptions about gaming that can either diminish their enjoyment or in some cases lead to them spending more than they intended.”
