A report in the Las Vegas Sun quoted company spokesperson James Chisholm as stating the daily fantasy sports company “is perfectly positioned to succeed in a legal sports betting market”.

A Supreme Court ruling on the state’s challenge to existing law limiting sports betting to only four states in expected soon.

“In preparation for the possibility of sports wagering in New Jersey, DraftKings has naturally had discussions with potential land-based casino partners, as required under the state’s online gaming regulations,” DraftKings said in a statement.

“We do not have any announcements at this time, and our focus continues to be on creating great sports entertainment experiences for the millions of customers who currently use DraftKings.”

DraftKings recently opened up a new office in Hoboken, New Jersey, adding to its existing premises in Boston and New York, appointing Sean Hurley as its head of sportsbook as the company launched its new vertical.

A decision from the Supreme Court on PASPA (the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act) is expected before its summer recess in July.
