The US Attorney for the Southern District of New York has agreed to release funds from a PokerStars account.

Although the amount of money is unspecified, according to a statement the DoJ has agreed to release all the funds except for US$5.5m as that was derived from the real money play of US players.

The money was held in Hapoalim Bank in Luxembourg and it is unclear as to why the money has been released at this particular time.

PokerStars released more than $100m to its US players back in May.
