Comtrade Gaming has launched its Central Monitoring System in Uganda as it looks to strengthen regulatory compliance and foster responsible gaming practices in the country.

The company said there has been an “increasing need” to establish Uganda’s National Central Electronic Monitoring System due to the “rapid growth” of the gaming industry there.

Comtrade said its offering can provide “prompt and valuable insights into gambling activities across the entire jurisdiction of Uganda, covering all segments and modalities.”

The NCEMS provides in-depth data analysis including multi-layered monitoring and analysis of gambling activities, allowing regulatory bodies to identify irregularities and potential instances of problem gambling.

It also offers player protection, Comtrade said, by monitoring player behaviour and betting patterns, while “state-of-the-art” security protocols help protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorised access.

Ivan Lah, director of systems at Comtrade, said: “With its advanced features and robust capabilities, we believe that our solution will play a pivotal role in promoting responsible gambling practices and fostering a safe and transparent gambling environment in Uganda."

Denis Mudene Ngabirano, chief executive officer of the Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board Uganda, added Comtrade demonstrated “outstanding expertise, professionalism and efficiency throughout the NCEMS implementation.”
