Statistics from DataCash - provider of payment services to the UK’s major betting brands - has revealed that the 2014 Cheltenham Festival saw a 30 per cent increase in transactions compared to 2013, up 123 per cent since 2010.

More than £74.6m was spent in 2.77 million transactions across all currencies during the four-day festival, which took place on March 11-14.
This included £63.8m, 85 per cent of the total. The fourth day was the busiest with £20.3m across all currencies - a 35 per cent increase on day four 2013.
