The vote on Brazil’s sports betting and igaming regulations has been postponed for a second time due to a number of senators being absent from the Senate.

Bill 3626/2023 was included in Wednesday’s Senate Plenary agenda after being postponed last Tuesday due to concerns over igaming legislation.

However, as reported by Senado Noticias, many senators were not present in the Senate on Wednesday due to other commitments such as the COP28 climate summit.

The vote will now take place next Tuesday, December 12.

Games Magazine Brazil quotes Senate president Rodrigo Pacheco as telling the session: “Next week will be filled with many legislative proposals, with many authorities to be considered, so I strongly ask for the presence of all senators in the Plenary.”
