Usain Bolt’s appearance at ICE London provided a timely injection of star power, with the sprint king describing his excitement at becoming involved in a new online slot title.

The Jamaican has had plenty of involvement in the creation of a game that will be released by Ganapati in time for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

Bolt, who had earlier delivered a special keynote address at ICE VOX in the Platinum Suite, admitted to being surprised by the sheer scale of the show having paced the floors at ExCeL London.

The 11-time world champion and dual world record holder for the 100 metres and 200 metres also gave an insight into his own love of responsible gambling – particularly apposite given negative media coverage of ICE London following the opening day.

“It’s something that so many people enjoy, but it’s important to be responsible,” Bolt told ICE Daily.

“Just for the record, I won $100 from my friend the other day from the Super Bowl!

“I enjoy watching sport and betting with my friends and it’s just something that’s part of life.”

Sitting next to Bolt, Ganapati’s COO Juliet Adelstein said she hopes the signing of Bolt, which follows on from an earlier sporting tie-up with boxer Manny Pacquiao, can have a widespread impact.

“If we can promote responsible gambling through people like Usain, then it will help the whole industry grow,” Adelstein said.

Bolt intends to travel to Tokyo for the Olympics and said he is excited for the finished product’s release.

“When the final project arrives you will then get to see the bonus which is the biggest thing we have talked about.

“You will also get to see the different characters you can work with and the different personalities that I have in my daily lifestyle.

“So it’s something different that I think people will enjoy.”
