Independent game developer Betlow has been acquired by content development organisation Core Gaming.

The deal is part of a long-term plan to design and deliver branded and original content to both land-based and online operators from a single operational base, offering the best of both worlds in terms of design and experience.

Core Gaming was recently established by Steve Murray and James Grenfell as a content development business based on a vast knowledge of land-based gaming, including venue-based games terminals. Murray was part of the team responsible for the early success of renowned venue-based game developer, Games Media, and its subsequent sale to Scientific Games in 2006.

"The integration of Betlow into Core Gaming combines considerable experience of designing original and branded content for both terminal and online applications and powerful, enduring relationships in both the land and web-based gaming industries," said Murray.

The Betlow team has a steadily growing reputation among online operators and software providers for its development of innovative content and efficient, bug-free integration to all major platforms, having delivered over 50 titles during the last three years.

Betlow MD Justin Chamberlain commented: "The knowledge sharing and synergistic developments will enable land-based experience to be taken online and internet related knowhow and creative skills to be transferred into venues."
