BetIndex has launched a football stock market called Football Index in which traders buy and sell shares in professional footballers with real money.
Fans effectively invest in a player’s future success, known as Football Futures, and can cash out early, selling their investment to another fan for a profit.
Fans, known as Traders, have the chance of multiple wins from a single bet. Football Index’s daily Buzz Chart is a UK media monitor that determines the trending footballer in the news each day. Traders holding Futures in the trending footballer receive a dividend pay out for each Future held.
