It is reported that Betfair is considering a £1.5bn flotation in the UK.

The company is reportedly keen to raise capital to lead the consolidation of the gaming sector. At present, co-founders Andrew Black and Edward Wray hold 26 per cent of the business together and Japan’s SoftBank 9984.JP has a 23 per cent interest.

Earlier this month, Betfair announced record annual results.
