Betfair has announced that it will be creating up to 100 jobs with the establishment of a new office in Dublin, Ireland.

The company, which recently listed on the London Stock Exchange, is to open a new data centre and relocate some of its customer operations teams to Ireland early next year.

Globally, Betfair employs over 600 engineers tasked with maintaining its Betting Exchange, which processes over five million transactions a day from its three million customers around the world.

Since inception in 2000, Betfair’s revolutionary product offering has been driven by a staunch commitment to cutting-edge technology, part of which will now be located in Ireland.

In recent weeks Betfair has been actively seeking new recruits to fill vacancies in the new office and data centre, the opening of which will complement its technology infrastructure and enhance its customer service capabilities.

Minister Conor Lenihan TD, who welcomed Betfair’s investment in Ireland, commented: Ireland is fast becoming a location of choice for many of the world’s most advanced internet and digital content companies and Betfair is an example of the type of company we want to attract."
