The number of Belgium’s online betting licences has been cut to just 30 by the country’s Gambling Commission.
One more has been removed from the permitted maximum of 31, which was itself a reduction on the 34 at the start of last year.
Belgium is also cutting back on the amount that gamblers can stake on bets online. From October 20 the maximum weekly deposit will be €200.
All advertising relating to gambling (except for the national lottery) may also be banned if a proposal to that effect is enacted.
