Adults in Australia spend an average of AU$17.52 a week on online gambling, a report by H2 Gambling Capital has found.
The research also indicates that men are more active in online gambling with between 62 per cent and 77 per cent of players being male. Compared with land-based players, online gamblers tend to take part in a wider range of gambling activities, including poker, horse racing and sports betting, the report found.
Sixty per cent of respondents said they played online through international companies while 54 per cent held just one account with a single online operator.
