The US state of Arizona generated US$28m in gross gaming revenue in February, a rise of 72.9 per cent year-on-year.

The Arizona Department of Gaming’s official figures for the month also reveal that handle was up by 4.6 per cent to $637.5m.

Payouts to players reached $583.2m, rising by 1.6 per cent, while adjusted gross gaming revenue before deductions hit $53m – this translated to a 51.7 per cent jump on last February.

Subsequent gross gaming revenue after deductions in the latest reporting period was $28m, a rise of 72.9 per cent, with taxes collected climbing by 73.3 per cent to $2.8m.

Of the $28m in February revenue, the Arizona Department of Gaming reported that mobile sports betting operators brought in $27.6m of the total, with retail sports betting adding a further $290,523.

FanDuel brought in the most mobile sports wagering revenue - $12.9m – with DraftKings following behind with revenue of $10.9m.

DraftKings, however, was the top-performing retail sports betting operator, generating revenue of $147,482.

BetMGM was the second-best performing operator on the retail side, generating revenue of $143,040.
