Almost half of Americans support the introduction of legalised sports betting, according to a Fairleigh Dickinson University poll reported in the Fantini Gaming Report.

The poll indicated a support of 48 per cent with 39 per cent in opposition.
This is slightly down in support and opposition from the last report, in 2012, when it showed 51 per cent in favour and 33 per cent against.
The report also revealed that of those in favour, 40 per cent had never visited a casino, but 79 per cent had made a bet on the outcome of a sports event.
Those against showed 49 per cent had been to a casino and only 15 per cent had laid a bet on a sports event.
