After seven years of regulated US sports betting, Third Planet Affiliates co-founder Adam Small believes the industry is now at a critical juncture.

This issue of iNTERGAMINGi is published at the seven-year anniversary of the repeal of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA), which opened the floodgates to regulated sports betting across the US.

Since then, the industry has continued to grow, with the American Gaming Association (AGA) reporting that 2024 was the industry’s fourth successive record year for revenue. Sports betting gross gaming revenue, in particular, rose 25.4 per cent year-on-year in 2024 to US$13.7bn.
