Igaming affiliate QiH Group plans to add at least seven more hires to its technology team as it looks to move previously outsourced technology in-house.

The company has brought in 32 new staff members in the past 12 months, including former Spotlight Sports Group (SSG) chief Simon Winder, who joined as chief financial officer.

Sachin Saxena’s (pictured) move to chief technology officer in September 2024, meanwhile, was another part of the affiliate’s four-year growth plan that saw David Murphy join as chief marketing officer and Andrew Lee promoted to chief operating officer.

After an overhaul of its C-suite, QiH Group is now focused on its deeper technology.

“So far, we’ve employed nine engineers, and are actually looking for a further seven tech team members at a minimum,” Saxena said.

“It’s no simple feat overseeing the change management process that is necessary to move from fully outsourced to completely in-house tech capacity, but the most important aspect of that is the people.

“We really needed to find the right people fit culturally and experientially and we needed to do it efficiently.”

“Recruiting into the igaming industry has been really interesting, mainly because for a lot of people, betting and gaming just isn’t a sector we’d considered previously,” Saxena added.

“Since joining six months ago, I’ve been fortunate enough to learn what a fascinating industry it is, and to convey that to potential new hires.”
