Sportech reported a 100 per cent increase in its revenue to £57.4m ($35.26) for the six months ended June 30, 2011, compared to £28.6m for the same period in 2010.

The figures include six months’ contribution from Sportech Racing, which was acquired in October last year and is so far "making good progress".

Chief executive of Sportech, Ian Penrose, said that the company is pleased with the group’s performance during the first half of 2011.

"Having successfully integrated Sportech Racing, we are focused on the continued development of our existing group activities,” he said. “The group has produced a strong improvement in EBITDA performance, generated strong cash flows and reduced its net bank debt by 10 per cent in six months, reflecting the current and longer term growth potential of the business."

The appointment of David McKeith, as a non-executive director to the group and chairman of the audit committee was also announced.
