The Dino Merluzzi Pinball and Modern Art Museum is opening this weekend in Italy's Umbria region.
The museum is named after and dedicated to the late Dino Merluzzi, said to be one of the "first Italian collectors of vintage gaming machines, nurturing the dream of being able to put them in a museum one day."
At the museum, visitors will be able to explore everything from machines dating from the 1950s to the latest games available today and everything in between. This includes electro-mechanical machines from the 60s and 70s and electronic games from the 80s and 90s, assembled in a "thematic itinerary" which describes the change of the customs and traditions of the time's society.
Italy's new amusement-themed attraction was created by the IFPA Italia Association, in co-operation with the Municipality of Terni, the Marmore Tourist Office and the ARCI of Terni.
The team behind the museum are also looking at creating an ducational programme to teach participants all about the machinery and its histroy, enriching options at the new location beyond recreation. Visitors to the centre will also be able to watch vintage movies about pinball and arcade games.
