April fool’s day came and went again with the usual array of tongue in cheek news items that inevitably caught-out some of the less wary among us!

Textminator

One of the more notable was LAI’s announcement that it was to release a sequel to one of its more infamous redemption titles, Textminator.

The original 2009 game in question challenged players on their texting skills just before smartphones became widely popular and it's safe to say that it wasn’t one of the company’s more successful efforts – a fact that LAI itself admits in a most self-depreciating manner!

Commenting on the response to the gag, LAI said: “We’re happy to report our Textminator 2 spoof was well-received by players, operators and our staff – most of whom knew nothing about the joke in advance. We had nearly 600 hits on the Textminator 2 webpage and our social media posts reached over 1200 people, with hundreds of  likes, shares and comments.

“The experience was very positive for us as we gained followers across our social media networks and had an opportunity to get the word out about our real portfolio of games that are in stock and ready for immediate delivery.”
