Loto-Québec, which oversees gaming in the Canadian province, reported strong revenues and net earnings between April 1 and June 29.

The organisation reported a 0.9 per cent increase in revenues to CA$860.5m, while earnings improved 2.6 per cent to $298.7m.
In the lotteries segment, revenues were up 3.3 per cent for the period, compared with the previous year, which it attributed to a greater number of large Lotto Max jackpots offered.
However, there was a slight dip of 1.1 per cent within the gaming hall sector, which also includes Loto-Québec’s video lottery network.
This was blamed on lower patronage of bars and brasseries and a smaller number of such establishments.
Casinos, meanwhile, reported a 6.4 per cent increase in net earnings despite a 2.2 per cent drop in revenues. Revenues generated by its online business, Espacejeux.com, climbed 27.4 per cent.
