A "strimming" device was used to raid coin machines in an arcade by a thief with 85 offences leading to 39 convictions over a period of 25 years.

The arcade was in Newport, Wales and the thief who appeared in the local court was Liam Dorrian, from over the border in England, who visited the Stardust Amusements to carry out his theft, reports the South Wales Argus.

He had been there the day before, strimming £1,000 in coins from the machines. The arcade manager had been suspicious and reviewed CCTV footage to catch Dorrian and his partner. He was given a six-month jail sentence, suspended for 18 months as he had "turned his life around" since the theft in February.
