The global presence of Indian cashless management firm Semnox received a boost at IAAPA as it displayed several of its latest products.

The Parafait Lumin reader uses a 4.3in screen and is the first of its products to use a Linux operating system. The new software allows players to use their playcards to select up to five games at once, in response to operator feedback, while it also updates itself over the air constantly.

“Gateway 26 in New Jersey, US, has installed these already and they’ll be operational when they open up next spring,” said Semnox director Kiran Karanki.

“Landmark’s Fun City operations in India have also recently switched to our platform and will also soon launch an app that will allow its guests to manage their playcards from their phones to top up and get push notifications. This is due to launch in December.”

Semnox also has a new kiosk to replace its existing one. Inspired by a smartphone screen, the new model features a revamped design but keeps the familiar interface that has been well received by users.

Karanki revealed that the kiosk will be used by an esports venue in California, US, to dispense wristbands when it opens in December.

“Business in the US and also globally is going very well,” he said. “While competition is strong in the market, we have our niche and we’re not worried. If people know us, what we do and how we do business, then we do well. We want a level playing field with good, strong competitors - it brings out the best in us.”
