The new president of UK trade association Bacta, Joseph Cullis, has pledged to continue the practice introduced by his predecessor, John Bollom, of taking the association out into the provinces.

He said last week that he would "deepen the connection" members have with the organisation and will therefore begin to host meetings around the country beginning in September.

He cited the North West and North Wales, North East, Midlands, South West and South Wales, London and the South East and Scotland.

“The industry and political landscape is changing fast. The land-based sector has faced intense scrutiny, shifting regulation and changing player expectations," he said.

"To stay ahead, we need to be smarter, nimbler and more in touch with our members than ever before and that is why I want to bring this dialogue to all corners of the country where our members operate.

“These meetings will not just be a calendar filler; they will bring genuine insight into the work Bacta is doing on your behalf and act as an opportunity to have your voice heard and your questions answered.

"This is the start of a deeper, two-way conversation between Bacta and the members.”
