The first Semnox cashless system to be implemented in Syria has gone live.

With a partner, the IT Build Company, Semnox has installed its Parafait suite of products at Leisurezone, a venue in the Syrian capital, Damascus.

The set-up includes the Lumin and Xter readers for the games and POS counters for sales and RFID cards.

The assistance of a local company has meant that Semnox has successfully achieved the installation remotely, without any hitches and the site went live on schedule.

Salah Koddoura, of the IT Build Company, said: “The remote installation did not create any problems for the venue and the communication between the Semnox team and our people here in Syria was easy.”

Vinayaka Kamath, head of sales EME for Semnox, said: "We had to consider a lot of factors while taking up this project [in] Syria, especially with the travel challenges involved in the present situation.

"We have always been able to give support post-implementation remotely and were confident this entire project can take off with remote installation as well. This will be a benchmark project for us, considering the way the entire implementation took off smoothly.”
