The UK government has started an open consultation on Universal’s plans for its theme park just outside Bedford.

They reveal that the park may boast some of the highest rides in Europe, up to 115m.
Said Universal in an accompanying statement: “The reason for proposing structures up to this maximum height is to permit the proposed theme park to compete with other attractions in Europe.
"Although the Universal Orlando Resort does not currently have attractions up to this height, taller attractions are more common in Europe, where rides need to be taller to create the experience, as space is more constrained.”
At present the tallest ride in Europe is Red Force, at 112m, a coaster in PortAventura in Spain, and the tallest in the UK is Hyperia at Thorpe Park (72m).
