Plans for a £2m attraction on South-Shields seafront, in the UK, which would include an FEC, children's amusement park, 4D cinema, climbing wall and go-karting, have been re-submitted to the local council by M&J Sherans Amusements, which claims there is a desperate need for "wet weather facilities" at Ocean Beach Pleasure Park.

A further boost to the park could also be on the cards as plans to revamp the adjoining amusement arcade have also been submitted.

Commenting on plans to revamp the adjoining arcade, Michael Sherans said: "The more investment and development the better as far as I am concerned. I am fully supportive of anything that will improve the seafront."

Plans were submitted at the beginning of the year but then withdrawn following criticism from other fairground traders concerned about increased competition.

"The main concept of the building is the same," said Sherans. "We have made some small changes to fit in with other seafront developments and overall it is an improvement on the original design. All the aims are the same and this past season certainly confirmed the need for indoor facilities, the way the UK weather has been."
