A retro arcade-bar is to be introduced to Kidderminster’s town centre.

Hot tubs and spas specialists Wyre Forest Spas is planning the project, to be named the Level Up Lounge. It will house a bar, pool tables, air hockey games and arcade machines, darts and other pastimes. The venue would have a minimum age of 18.
Another new development is at the Golden Gate Holiday Centre (pictured) at Towyn in North Wales. The owners have applied to Conwy Council for permission to develop an indoor leisure complex to include bowling, a rooftop bar and a large arcade. An outdoor play area would also be included.
While still awaiting the go-ahead from the UK government for Universal Studios’ theme park at Bedford, it is noted that the American company has registered its name in the UK in preparation for the green light.
Novomatic’s Luxury Leisure has applied for planning permission for the conversion of the soon-to-be-closed Halifax branch in Whitby’s Baxtergate into an adult gaming centre.
The plans have split opinions in the Yorkshire coastal town. It would be open 24 hours a day, said the company. The Halifax is the town’s last remaining high street bank.

A trampoline park acquired by a family six years ago has closed down. The Jump Revolution at Grantham said that challenges in the leisure industry and generally difficulties in sustaining the business were behind the closure, mainly the pandemic and the cost of living increases.
