US-based Santikos Theatres has opened a new location in Houston that combines a movie theatre with a 16 lanes of bowling.
The Santikos Palladium AVX in Houston, Texas, is a 180,000sq.ft entertainment destination with 22 theatres and multiple cafes and bars alongside the bowling. The company installed customised Anvilane synthetic lanes from Brunswick, designed to resemble white granite to create an “ancient Greek feel” as a nod to the founding family’s heritage, said marketing manager Chris Prichard.
“To couple a theatre with bowling makes sense, and it’s our mission to offer something for everyone from two to 102 years old,” he said. “The Palladium’s ‘Olympic Lanes’ offers 16 lanes of bowling, four of which can be reserved for parties or private events.” Jay Saladino, Brunswick Bowling’s director of new business development, said that the company’s Anvilane technology is “perfect” for the new location.
“We helped create lanes ‘of stone’ in keeping with the grandness of the new centre’s ancient Greek architectural concept,” he said. “Working together, we created a top-of-the-line bowling experience integrating a beautiful design element.”
