Jennison released a new game, Gum Drop, a ball drop game that is an evolution of its Space Balls game, at the IAAPA show in Orlando, US, last week.

This machine has a quicker ball feed than its predecessor, making it more engaging for the player.

It has a smaller footprint than Space Balls and follows the story of the hapless staff of a confectionary company with its visuals, rather than that of a monkey-astronaut in outer space.

"The game is fun in itself but we feel that a storyline really lets the player identify more with the game,” said John Brennan, Jennison’s business development manager.

Rocket Wheel was also on show, a redemption game based on the Looney Toons IP and is “about 70 per cent finished”, but Brennan believes it will be on the market by December.

The player pushes down a plunger, as the Wile E Coyote might do on a box of TNT, and there is an explosion noise, a flash of red and steam emits from the machine. The harder the player pushes, the more the wheel will spin.

Brennan said the finished version will be shown for the first time at EAG in London and will be available for delivery in January.

Also on the stand was Jersey Wheels, the game Jennsion developed with Bob’s Space Races, which Brennan said has continued to perform in the US and the Middle East but has not done so well in the UK.

“We had some technical teething problems there in the beginning, but it has still done well elsewhere,” he said.
