Records have been broken at major Abu Dhabi attractions Ferrari World and Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Yas Island

The major United Arab Emirates developer and operator, Miral, has revealed that its Yas Island - specially developed for the retail and entertainment markets - enjoyed a major upsurge in visitors in 2024, with more than 38 million for Yas Island, up 10 per cent. Hotel occupancy hit 82 per cent and went over 90 per cent in August.

The theme parks and Clymb, its indoor adventure hub, showed a 20 per cent rise in visits with locals up 56 per cent and international tourists up 40 per cent. Largest influxes were from India (44 per cent), China (81 per cent) and the UK (40 per cent).

Miral is planning a 16,900sq.m expansion of its Yas Waterworld this year with 12 new rides while Warner Bros World will add DC attractions, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and two new rides.
