Legoland Shanghai, a new amusement destination in China, has announced it will open in summer 2025.

The news was announced at the China International Import Expo, where it also shared a video that showcased the resort’s concept.
Aimed at children aged between two and 12, the resort is the first international IP family entertainment park in the Yangtze River Delta region. It will feature more than 75 interactive rides, shows and attractions. Planned attractions include a roller coaster, a driving school experience and firefighter academy.
John Jakobsen, chief operating officer at Legoland Resorts, said: “China represents a key pillar of the Merlin Entertainments’ global growth strategy, and Legoland Shanghai Resort marks a crucial advancement in our strategic expansion plans for Chinese market.
“As construction of Legoland Shanghai Resort advances positively, today, we unveiled the concept video showcasing the entire resort for the first time, launched a membership recruitment program, marking a new milestone. We eagerly anticipate that upon its opening next year, Legoland Shanghai Resort will emerge as a new cultural tourism landmark in the Yangtze River Delta region.”
