In a bitter attack against Chinese copiers, Alan Freimuth, who heads LAI Games' organisation in the US, turned the spotlight on trade associations, exhibition organisers and the trade press who deal with the law breakers.

Having had his Stacker copied by at least two Chinese companies, Freimuth is quoted as saying: “To take action against them in China is a legal minefield. They [associations/show organisers/trade press] should do more to support OEMs by stopping these companies exhibiting and advertising.”

He added that operators who bought cheap copies risked a lower return through poor finish, lack of support and even fire risk.
