A new gaming law is expected at the start of 2019, insiders in the Dutch coin machine industry are claiming this week.

Fresh Dutch law in 2019?

They are quoting Henk Kesler, vice-president of the Dutch gaming board, who mentioned the likelihood during an industry event in the UK recently.

Kesler is reported to have said that there are several stages to be undertaken before a law can be framed, including extensive discussions with interested parties. A new law will come as some relief to a Dutch industry in some disarray through conflicting opinions on the method by which the current laws should be implemented.

The regulations will also clear the air on online gambling - there is a bill on remote gambling yet to be debated in the upper house of the Dutch Parliament although it has already cleared the lower house.

This is confused by proposals for fresh levels of taxation on gambling, which are reported to come into effect mid-2018, increasing the rates from 29 per cent to 30.1 per cent.
