The Chuck E. Cheese chain of family food and entertainment outlets in the US is reported to be struggling financially after the Covid-19 pandemic, according to US media.

RePlay, the trade magazine for the US amusement industry, said that the company is reported to be in talks with its lenders to raise money to avoid bankruptcy. It quotes Fox Business as saying that Chuck E. Cheese has made an approach to see if it can obtain a $200m loan to fend off bankruptcy “as a decision looms over whether to make a $1.9m quarterly payment on loans due at the end of June.”

The company has over 600 outlets in 47 US states and 16 countries.
