Every visitor to the European Amusement and Gaming Expo picks up a copy of the show catalogue, said Karen Cooke, show manager on behalf of the trade association, BACTA.

"We had 5,800 visitors in 2012," said Cooke, "and they all picked up the hard copy of the catalogue as they went through the door. We know that the catalogues have 'shelf-life' because we received calls after the show from visitors who referred back to the catalogue entries."

There will be 125 companies showing this year, said Cooke, and it was “certain” that the final total of exhibitors would pass last year's numbers. While the number of visitors in 2012 was slightly down on 2011, Cooke noted that there was a much higher incidence of visitors staying for longer than one day. "Many of them stayed for two or even the full three days," she added.

Advertising in the catalogue was promoted by Cooke, who said that the long-term use of the catalogue as a reference made supporting it a very good investment by exhibitors.
