UK capsule vending equipment and merchandise supplier Midland Vending Supplies, has been acquired by long-time operator Chris Maidens.
The company, based at Stockport, near Manchester, was formerly owned by Mike Sheppard, who had built the company into one of the best-known suppliers of equipment and content in the capsule vending business.
Maidens, under his Skavend Ltd operating company, now controls not just Midland Vending, but its associate company Toy Vending Supplier.
Maidens said: “The company was started by Mike in 2004 and he built up a fine reputation for quality and price. We became good friends and it was not a difficult decision to take over the business when the opportunity arose.
“Now Covid-19 has hit the leisure industry hard and many sites have closed down or been removed or have had restrictions placed upon their operation, so it was probably the worst possible time to buy into the wholesale sector! However, I have a passion for the industry and will work hard to bring back Midland Vending to where it was before.
“I have my first shipment of machines due in shortly and intend to significantly grow the range of 32mm and 50mm capsules as soon as possible.”
Midland supplies some of the biggest names in the capsule vending business, including Fiam, Brabo, GV18 and Beaver.
