At the recent Park Avenue Open Day, held in London, UK, the trade association BACTA raised £650 for charity.

BACTA raises £650 for charity

The money will go to the BACTA Charitable Trust, which caters to local and national charities, including its four principal charities: Great Ormond Street Hospital, Teenage Cancer Trust, Rays of Sunshine and the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

Parveen Sharma, BACTA’s events coordinator, said: “Thank you to everyone for participating and to all for donating towards the raffle. It’s always so nice having a raffle at these events, it shows how kind our industry is.”

Money was also raised through the selling of BACTA ties and other branded merchandise. Tickets 2 Wishes was also promoted. This is the association’s initiative where customers are encouraged to donate their leftover redemption tickets into a tube provided to the site by BACTA. The operator then periodically adds up the accumulated value and donates it to Rays of Sunshine, a charity that organises events to enrich the lives of children with life-threatening illnesses.

“It’s also an excellent way for your staff to engage with customers and promote your business with positive PR, both through press coverage and social media engagement. We currently have 85 kits at some of our members’ venues. It’s so heart-warming to hear how this has made many children’s wishes come true,” she told InterGame.
