Prime Minister Boris Johnson has announced that adult gaming centres and betting shops in England can reopen from June 15, a move that follows on from repeated requests for clarity from trade association BACTA.

The rules in the other UK countries, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, are subject to separate decisions from their own respective parliaments.

]While AGCs fall under the category of non-essential retail, BACTA is seeking clarification on the situation for FECs which are currently down to open up as part of leisure and hospitality from July 4.

The industry must work to the conditions set down in official guidance on self-distancing and other measures, much of which was covered by suggestions from BACTA itself.
