Ahead of next week’s EAG International Expo, Sega and its UK and Ireland distributor Crown Direct teamed up for a pre-show product preview at the company’s headquarters.

The company’s diverse mix of redemption, novelty, video, sports games and prize merchandisers were on display at the event.

Crown has been Sega’s distributor for Sega for more than 10 years and the relationship between the two companies has “never been stronger,” Sega’s Justin Burke said.

EAG highlights only part of the annual cycle for the two companies, with much of next season’s products being viewed at IAAPA by Dean Harding and Sega, following testing ahead of the shows.

While Sega will show a full line up at ExCel next week, Crown will still be exhibiting Sega product on its stand, including the Key Master prize merchandiser and the arcade version of the popular app Doodle Jump.

One product that Stuart Wood, Darren Chadwick and David Hurst from Crown Direct’s Wigan depot and Kevin and Ashley Temple from its Galashiels operation are enthusiastic about was Milk Jug Toss. This new ICE product is a coin-op redemption version of the midway fairground classic.

“The game looks the part, plays well and will be a great family attraction in any arcade, either as a single unit or a pair,” said Wood.

The mood going into the show is one of confidence, based on the range of products that cross various genres and are test proven. These are expected to have longevity in the marketplace and are competitively priced, the companies said.

Dean Harding said he was “excited for the team to have so much great product to get their teeth into and to show off at the EAG next week.”
